15 religious journals kept by Katherine Paxson, 1943-1995; Paxson's school workbook created while a student at Twelfth Street Meeting First Day School (Philadelphia), 1918-19, reflecting the school's curriculum, and a TS entitled "Growing Up Quaker" that Paxson wrote over time, which tells about her mother's life in North Carolina and Indiana, her father's life in Maryland, and the Quaker roots of each, beginning in the 19th century. Also described in the TS is Paxson's own life, education in Quaker schools (Twelfth Street Meeting First Day School and Westtown School), Quaker family life, membership at Lansdowne (Pa.) Monthly Meeting, and interconnections with the Hutton, Biddle, and Thompson families.

Lansdowne Monthly Meeting (Hicksite) was established in 1901 by Concord Quarterly Meeting out of Darby Monthly Meeting. Lansdowne Monthly Meeting (Orthodox) was established in 1904 by Concord Quarterly Meeting out of Chester Monthly Meeting (Orthodox). In 1951, the Hicksite and Orthodox monthly meetings merged to form a united monthly meeting. In 1955, Lansdowne Monthly Meeting became part of the newly-formed Chester Quarterly Meeting.
